On the twenty ninth day of December in the year Fourteen Hundred Nine, a young girl was born to a quiet family of halflings. This girl was given the name Stellae de Noctu, which in the common tongue translates roughly to NyteStarr. Her family quickly discovered she was different from them, having been born with an extraordinary gift of magic. Taking the advice of the village council, they took the girl to wise old women in the forest and asked her to train their young daughter, so that she could be fully happy... In fact, I have not seen my parents since that day so long ago. At times I forget what they look like; when I have grown tired of adventures, I will return to them. I completed my training with the wise one, Liliana early, having only just turned only thirteen. I knew then that I wanted to explore the world and use my abilities rather than just control them as I had been taught. After what seemed like ages, she consented to send me to Lasler. She gave me brand new practice garments, weapons and warnings to be careful in the outside world. When I opened my eyes the next morning I found myself in the schoolhouse of Lasler. While in Lasler I met trainers who showed me combat and magical skills that I had never even dreamed of. I also met Headmaster Irvin who asked me to get some things for him, which I of course did and to my surprise he rewarded me with a cape and a bracelet. When I wore these I felt extra power and soon I began thinking about my garments... Before too much time passed, my bruises convinced me that although Liliana's gifts were nice I had to have stronger, safer equipment. It took a while for the shopkeepers and I to communicate - as I was not yet used to common tongue, however we eventually understood each other wonderfully. After gaining better equipment, I started exploring the woods and met an old elven druid who seemed to have a mission just for me. He asked me to collect three leaves in doing so I was sent to a chamber and had to fight a monster! When I finished, I had a book that disappearedas I read its pages, but in a strange way that I cannot explain gave me knowledge that I have not forgotten. For this trial I also received an award called a 'mark' it denoted my Youth. In another trial I was taken to a strange puzzle of columns and color and when completed I was awarded another mark, this time of Wisdom. With these two marks in hand I was feeling quite confident in my abilities and decided to leave the protective boundaries of Lasler.
